Hello everyone! Welcome to Lancaster University’s Economics Society, the largest academic society on campus with over 1800 members including alumni and students of all years, backgrounds and fields of study. We are one of the few societies officially supported by Lancaster University’s Management School, a world class quadruple accredited school consistently amongst the UK’s Top Ten. Our society is built on ambition and with the support of our sponsors, we provide some outstanding academic and career events to give our members valuable support and the opportunity to take charge of their interests. This is a society represented by its members so we strive to tailor our events towards the needs of our students and welcome everyone from any discipline. We offer a platform to socialise and build friendships that will last a lifetime and this idea is replicated by our ever-growing contacts with alumni and networks with high-profile speakers. Team activities, panel debates and informal events with employers ensure that our members are given the opportunities to advance their personal development. Do sign up below to receive the latest updates on our events! If you have any queries or would like to get in touch, please feel free to drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org .
University Economics can sometimes feel slightly unfamiliar to what we see in the real world today so our academic events aim to bridge the gap and help our members to approach what they have learnt from a new perspective. Our events include topics such as behavioural psychology, financial risk and women in business.
CAREER AND EMPLOYABILITY EVENTS
LUES is a career orientated society and a second calling point for students who want advice on careers in Economics. We offer specialist help in students also keen to enter financial markets through insight lectures, mock assessment centres and interview preparation given by alumni and our very own financial careers coach. .
SOCIAL AND NETWORKING EVENTS
Our social events are unique, creative and popular ways to meet new people with similar interests in a relaxed environment. From dinners with employers to stock exchange nights out there are endless opportunities to get to know everyone including our fellow exec team. .
STUDENT SUPPORT AND OPPORTUNITIES
One of our aims is to constantly adapt to the needs of our members. Thus, we offer student support in the form of exam advice and mock paper practice sessions. We also organise trips including our annual opportunity to attend the Warwick Economics Summit so students can make the most of their time as a member.
